This will require further evaluation to determine cost. The purpose of this inspection is to observe concealed areas of the chimney structure and flues. Removal of parts of the chimney or building as needed to gain access to specific concealed areas to examine damaged areas. When a lower level of inspection results in hazards that cannot be checked without concealed access. We would notify before moving forward with this inspection.

Corbelling in your chimney smoke chamber (the area just above your firebox) interfers with the effective discharge of the fireplace smoke and harmful gases. Chapter 211 of the National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) states: "The inner surfaces of the smoke chamber shall be parge coated smooth, with an insulting refractory mortar." Our proposed solution is to perform a parging of your smoke chamber using a listed material such as Priorfire Formula 51 or HeatShield Cerfractory Foam.
